 Our organization was founded by a team of educators, social workers, public health professionals, and military veterans who have successfully led schools, served in special education classrooms, provided social-emotional and behavioral supports, and attended to the physical health and wellness of students and adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities for over 50 years. 

The Fending House is committed to responding to the needs of the one in four Americans living with a disability today with outcomes-based services for all disabilities throughout the lifespan.

Among our services we offer adult day services and employment opportunities for young, middle-aged, and senior adults. We also provide transportation for program participants, employable skills training and coaching, employment placement assistance for adults with disabilities, including veterans in addition to a variety of additional services for people of all ages including mental and physical health and wellness education, recreation, caregiving support – and much more.

 We started this organization with the goal of implementing a wraparound framework of services that have traditionally not been offered in day services and home-based programs.
